Re: RHU WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING
I get what you are saying & I did originally put them in one long list.........& boy was it long, the page went on forever! I can un-center them so to speak if that would look better?
As for alphabetical, I can do this & had thought about it after I had already placed them It really did take hours to gather them all from the forum & sort the links out (I had to go to each one to make sure they worked). TBH I'd had enough of them by then But it is something I will do once everything else is sorted, if there are any missing it's because they didn't work or I just plain missed them due to link blindness So if anyone spots that any are missing or not working please let me know

Re: RHU WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING
If the links are all in a table you could put a thin border on one side of each column to seperate them a little...
You have done well with it all so far
Want to keep chatting about it now but gotta go for lunch! will be back...

Re: RHU WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING
Gill it loods fab well done... the only bit I have found for me was a problem... I went the guest book to sign it and when you try to put your cursor on the bit titled NAME... my cursor wont go on there... so you cant put anything in that box....but goes on all the other bits fine and allows you to fill them in:IE email and other boxes
Sorry that dosent sound a very techinical explanaiton but shout if you want me to explain it again

Re: RHU WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING
Yes I know about the guestbook, you have to get your pointer right on the line at the begining of the box.......B***dy stupid thing!
Re: RHU WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING

Re: RHU WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING
That is a pain about the guestbook form, you can click in the box below then press shift and tab to go back up to box above for anyone who wants to sign it for now, but that's obviously just a temporary measure.
I noticed on the menu bar under the 'services' link there is not enough room for all the text in the drop down menu. If you wanted to spruce up the menu bar there is a really good css menu builder (free!) here - http://www.cssmenumaker.com/ . It gives you all the source code so you just have to copy and paste after filling in the link details on that site.
Not seeing many probs so far though so well done, lookin good

Are you not seeing all of the text then?

Sorry not the 'services' link (there isn't even a services link there so don't know where that came from!), I meant under the 'Links' link. I can see the top 3 links in the dropdown but the other 3 are cut off like this:
Services animal
Services non-a
Info health & ad
Is everyone else seeing that ok? I am using Firefox so will have a go in IE and see if it still does it...
EDIT: Yes it is working fine in Internet Explorer. Maybe fiddle with the css for the nav bar
Another thing I've noticed when I've just looked on my home pc is that the blue menu bar is off centre a little, but when I look at it at work it is centred. Same browser so not sure why that would be happening? That shouldn't put anyone off anyway. Just thought I'd let you know.
It's lovely to see RHU with a website, I'm so pleased! Let's hope it encourages more and more members

I can swap links with you too if you like?
that would definately help RHU
Re: RHU WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING
Just wondering - is there any analytics installed on the site (e.g. google analytics)? If not I would definitely recommend adding this as it gives you really detailed statistics on where the visitors are coming from, what keywords they used to find you (so you can tailor your meta tags to the most popular keywords to maximise hits) etc etc etc (Sound like a google salesperson now!)
Re: RHU WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING
I have added a link from my website - hope this is ok

Re: RHU WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING
The AB Fab one seems to be working, but no matter what I do I can't get the OK animal rescuers one to work, the actual url works but when I put it in as a link it just aint having none of it I'm still workong on it though.
If anyone spots anything else please, please, please let me know
Re: RHU WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING
that maybe cos i had to have the code which was in the post not actually what it looks like in the post if that makes sense?
Re: RHU WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING
2 things i'd say (well 3 actually)
Firstly great site, not too big AND it fits in the standard broswer window.
The next 2 are merely suggestions however if you feel they are out of place please feel free to pin me down and beat me with a steak tenderiser.
The News + Updates section has too much in it as as a side effect you scroll down the page and the text left over isn't on a background and does look good. a solution to this would be to have 3/4 news articles/updates thre and then a link to an archive (or even forum board) with the older news on.
In terms of advertising and sponsors, there is a modification avalible for phpBB3 that allows you to have in-run adverts and sponsor banners after a select amount of post (say every 3 posts) and so can help generate more interest and ideally more revenue to help the board, However i'm not sure if a freee forum (such as this) allows you the core FTP access to upload the required files to do this.
