Staffie fosterers needed Empty Staffie fosterers needed

Somerset Staffie rescue are currently looking for fosterers UK wide who willing to foster the dogs in our care. We are looking for people with bull breed experience, who have the time, the patience and the space to open their homes and their hearts to a rescue staffie who is waiting for a forever home.

Fostering isn't necessarily easy. It requires patience, time and understanding. Some dogs may not settle in with yours straight away, and will need time and firm handling in order to do so. Some may have behavioural issues, may lack in training, may be stressed, or suffer from S.A .......some dogs will be a complete doddle. All our dogs are home assessed before being placed in foster homes, so we get a pretty good idea of their individual needs and of any quirky little habits they may have. We try to match the right dog to the right foster home, taking into account the needs of both parties.

We offer 100% rescue back up, and are always available to offer advice and support. If, after having given the dog a reasonable time to settle in, things are not working out despite a fosterers best efforts then we will arrange for the dog to be placed elsewhere as soon as transport can be arranged.

Fostering may not be easy but it IS incredibly rewarding, and knowing that you've given a dog a safe haven when he/she was in need is a great feeling. Seeing a scared, stressed dog arrive as a foster, seeing the dog relax, readjust and recuperate in your care then go on to find a lovely forever home with new owners to cover with Staffie snogs makes you feel like you've made a difference.

Fostering doesn't change the world, but it does contribute towards changing the world of that one dog

If you feel you've got what it takes to foster a rescue Staffie then please PM me with your contact details and I'll be in touch asap for a chat.
