They scan the site and update the listings on search engines like google, yahoo etc

Yeah pretty much. The more relevant content a site has the higher it should be in search listings. Links are important too, outbound and inbound from other relevant websites.

Erm...no I don't think so as there will be words used in those looong threads like 'rescue' 'dogs' 'transport' 'foster' etc etc and these are all relevant words, so in a way might be a good thing!

A bot cannot tell between a dispute and a happy convo as it's just basically scanning the words, there isn't an actual person checking it.

The more traffic you have, the higher up the ranks you go....

so in theory even the spats promote the site! :S

lol! the only problem is when a whole thread mentions for example fostering lots then if someone goes too google types fostering and that appears to chat about it more and theres a row that is where people are directed too.
