Wonky Dogs Welsh Three Peaks Challenge
We have two teams tackling this challenge. One team will attempt Pen y Fan and Cadair Idris on Saturday 15th August and Snowdon on Sunday 16th.
The second team will attempt all three on Sunday 16th.
Proceeds from this amazing challenge will be split between the Rosie and Friends Appeal and our usual vet and kennel bills. There will be a sponsorship page opened on our website soon at www.friendsoftheanimalsrct.org.uk
Rosie and Friends Appeal
Some of you will have seen the story of Rosie our wonderful Springer Spaniel that has spent all of her two years of life with urinary incontinence. We need to raise the money for her to have tests at the Royal College Vet School and then hopefully surgery to correct this problem.
Chippy is another one of the 19 dogs from the same home as Rosie. Chippy is a tiny terrier who is just over a year old, has problems with his spine and needs an MRI scan and also possible surgery.
Belinda the Bichon came from a puppy farm and was handed in when she was no longer needed to be a mum. She has poorly eyes and needs surgery to remove the cataracts she has and give her back full sight.
None of these dogs ask for much. Rosie just to have a life without urine constantly running down her legs, Chippy to be able to run around and play as he used to be able to and Belinda who after a life of being a puppy machine to be able to regain full sight.
We need to raise about £10,000 to help these dogs have the quality of life they deserve. In just the first five months of this year we have already spent over £10,500 on vets treatment for our routine work so to raise this extra money is a huge challenge. We will need to raise this amount over and above our usual fund raising as of course we still need to be able to provide for every dog and cat that comes in during the rest of the year.
We are already looking at some events that will support this worthwhile cause but if anyone has any ideas please get in touch. Perhaps you have friends or know someone who may be in a position to help.
Rosie, Chippy and Belinda are counting on your help and support.
