Sascha the Collie

Pawz for Thought are a rescue and re-homing charity (Charity number 1103331), based in north east of England. Our pets are only re-homed after vet and home checks, there is an adoption donation and all dogs are nuetered, if old enough, vacinated, and chipped. Our website is www.pawzforthought.org.

Sascha came to pawz some months ago and was adopted, unfortunately she has to come back, so, she is, again looking for a home. When Sasch came to pawz she was very overweight, barrel on legs. While living with her new owners she endured a strict/healthy diet and walking regime to get her down to a healthy weight. A target she has now achieved. As she has lost the weight her interest in life has blossomed. She is now a very active collie, with a fascination for fetching and carrying, sticks, squeaky toys, in fact anything that can occupy her. Sascha is a highly intelligent Collie who needs to be kept mentally and physicaly active, She also has the most awesome tail wag we have ever seen on a dog, it seems to start from the tip of her nose and extend through her whole body. During her time with her previous family, her recall has improved a lot, although this still needs some work, Like all Collies she does become fixated on anything that she deems more interesting than her walker, Treats and a squeaky toy help. Sasha loves going out in the car, and is also fine to be left alone as long as she has her toys to play with, she is scrupulously clean in the house. Sascha will make the right person a hugely loyal and loving pet, but that person has to be the right one for Sascha, She is very fear aggressive to other dogs and needs to be under control when near any other animals. Sascha is fine with older (teenage) children and adults but cannot be homed with younger children. What Sascha needs more than anything else in this world is a Collie savvy owner who has the time to devote to her to keep her mind and body active, and to help her through the next stages of her developement. In 9 months she has come so far and now she needs the right people to take her on the rest of her journey:-

This girl is now in foster but is still looking for her forever home!
Here's an update from her foster home

Sascha is a fun and wonderful dog with whom it is impossible not to fall in love. She is full of love for people and has the most fabulous wag that starts right at the tip of her nose! She is great around the house: scrupulously clean and quiet and, while she would be delighted if you would play with her all day, every day, she will settle into her basket instantly when asked. Sascha, like all collies, needs her exercise but, as she is great fun to walk this is no hardship.Sascha really is a great dog who will make the right person and incredibly loving and loyal companion. This young at heart lady has been waiting for her forever home for far too long and she really deserves it to come along soon.
