WINNIE Bull Mastiff cross Boxer
Winnie is a spayed female Bull Mastiff Cross Boxer approximate Age 8 years 6 months old
Winnie is good with children but not animals. She must be muzzled or walked where there are no animals to avoid confrontation. Winnie is very strong and needs an experienced owner. Winnie is a good traveller and enjoys long walks.
Winnie has a slight weak bladder and may need Propalin syrup from time to time to help control this.
Winnie would be suited to someone with lots of land where she can be free to roam but not come into contact with other animals. She is very well behaved and would make a great family pet.
Winnie can be visited any day between 1 and 3 at the Jerry Green Rescue centre in Blidworth.
Warsop Lane , Blidworth , Nottinghamshire , NG21 0PG
For more information telephone Manager Lana Michaels 01623 792886
Email notts@jerrygreendogs.co.uk
Reduced adoption fee £40. This includes microchip, 4 weeks insurance, fully innoculated. Lifetime support.
Winnie came to the kennels in April 2006. Do you know anyone who can give her the life she deserves ?

Re: WINNIE Bull Mastiff cross Boxer
Winnie is still patiently waiting for her home.
She doesn't come into the run to see people - just stands at the door of her kennel and looks out.
Poor girl seems obviously resigned to the fact that no one wants to take her home with them.
She has been at the kennels now for two and a half yeas and is our longest stay resident.

Re: WINNIE Bull Mastiff cross Boxer
Poor old girl is still looking.
The arrangements for visiting the centre are changing from 1st December.
Appointments now have to be made in advance and then the dog will be brought up from the kennels to meet the potential adopter.
This is to reduce the stress levels for the dogs.

Re: WINNIE Bull Mastiff cross Boxer
Dogs are usually rehomed within a 50 mile radius of the centre.
If someone wanted to discuss this option with the manager they would have to be within the area.
If you read her description you will see she needs a very specific home so the same would apply to a fosterer which could prove just as difficult to find.
Some dogs do go to foster homes eg the very elderly or toys dogs which are freaking out in kennels but unless they are depressed , kennel stressed or going downhill physically they generally stay in kennels.

Re: WINNIE Bull Mastiff cross Boxer
I cant believe she is being kept in kennels for over 2 years surely the kennels would waver the 50mile radius for this girl?
Re: WINNIE Bull Mastiff cross Boxer
The 50 mile radius rule is set by Head Office not the kennel manager.
It is possible to go outside the area provided the potential home is within the 50 mile radius of another centre (JG have 7 centres).
JG do their own home checks, follow up checks etc and do not "contract out" this work. Also by being relatively near it does mean that should there be a problem they can take the dog back easily.

Re: WINNIE Bull Mastiff cross Boxer
I saw Winnie on Monday. She was enjoying herself in the large secure grass enclosure - running about and barking as visiting dogs (mine!). Unfortunately due to her size (she is a substantial dog!) and dislike of other dogs / animals she is very hard to place.
At the moment any large dog there is finding it harder to get rehomed - most of the enquiries coming through are for small ones.
