Missing Black Lab
Charlie went missing from watford on 28th March. He was out with his elderly owner when he was scared off by a GSD and a Collie. Charlie is 4 1/2 years old, he is a failed bomb sniffer dog. He was wearing a black collar when he went missing and can be quite jumpy and highly strung. Dog Lost are aware, but if anyone lives in or around Watford please keep an eye out for him, his owner is distraught obviously.

Re: Missing Black Lab
No news - I get alerts on my personal email and also LRSEC gets alerts about lost Labs which go onto the front page of our website or under lost Labs. for Charlie, I just hope he's ok. But why if someone has found him don't they hand him in, unless he's been stolen. I was told that dogs who are involved in RTAs and die are not scanned, just collected and I don't like to think where they go. I hope this is not the case with Charlie

Re: Missing Black Lab
No news on Charlie, I'm afraid. Apparently two 'rough' looking men were seen in NW3 dragging a black Lab along on a lead - they didn't refer to the dog by name but were not treating it like an owner would. This has been reported, but alas nothing further :'( :'(
Poor Charlie needs to be be found soon - come home Charlie, your dad is missing you SO much :'( :'(
Lots of posters are up in the local area

Re: Missing Black Lab
Absolutely nothing, was hoping something would appear in the local paper. Do hope he is safe somewhere. Trouble is, as I understand it from my local dog warden, if a dog is run over, the council who collect the body don't always scan it, meaning a distraught owner will never find their dog. this hasn't happened to Charlie

Re: Missing Black Lab
was this doggy found?
we need to bring this to the attention of the radio and papers, i.e. not scanning dogs that hav been run over.

Re: Missing Black Lab
We are lucky in our area as we have good friends among the council workers so if there is a fatal RTA they will contact our rescue so we can go out and scan, and while this can mean awful news for the owner at least they do know what has happened rather than forever worrying about their dog's fate.
