Post by Speeds Fri Mar 28, 2008 5:08 pm

Just wondering.

Soemtimes I cannot help as I do have a fear agressive male at home so have to be very careful about who I can foster.

Also with a 7 year old son with special needs and a hubby in a wheelchair I also have to make sure that any transport I do fits in with school times etc.

What I can offer though is a donation towards a kennel for a night or two if that means that there is some breathing space for getting transport organised. For example if I was going to drive 100 or so miles - in my car that is a good £15 of petrol so why not give that for a nights kennel from me where I cannot help with the transport?

Is there a place where we can pledge a cash amount if needs be to assist with kennel fees (I noticed on the Am Bull dog that there was a place offered at cost in a kennels)? If it already exists please point me in the right place. If not - would it be possible to set up something? I am really fishing here - and I guess trying to decrease my feelings of guilt when I cannot help out.

yes it was mentioned i really dont know what to suggest really.

at first i thought setting up a paypal account and people could paypal and then i coulkd paypal directly rescues from it so to speak. however sometimes money was needed asap and i wasnt in a position to financially get cash out of my bank account mean time if that makes sense?

it was thought if we 'charged' a membership like a sponsorship of like £5 a year that would go in to the pot, then any raffles or whatever too. with the thought that then people could askfor financial help towards say a few kennel nights safety.

i guess what im trying to say ids yes i am all up for helping anyway i can but at the moment all i can offer is a paypal account. I am in the process of setting up a RHU bank account as a special account with my bank.

Sounds like a good plan to have a donation pot. But I'd be worried that some people would be put off if they had to make an annual fee. If I'd been asked to donate money when I requested membership I might have not gone through with teh sign up. But now I've seen what's done through RHU I have no issue with donating.

Perhaps a donation button is a better option than a subscription.

I am for the pay pal button so that people can donate as and when.

Thanks Julie for moving the thread to the correct place

And I hope we can sort out something.
