someone sent me email saying there is a message on here for me ,ive looked and there is no new messages for me.

This would be due to the fact that either
(i) the person who messaged you has ceased to be a member of RHU: when an account is deleted so are the messages sent by the ex member in question.
or
(ii) you recieved a copy of the unauthorised mass PM that was sent a few days ago..as it was unauthorised we managed to block a fair few of them, so you may have recieved a notification but no message.
