In need of New HQ
If you could all look out for a smallholding for rent (4 acres or more) we are desperately looking for a new HQ we will consider anything in South Wales. We did have means for a morguage but the extra council tax they have charged volenteers for fostering at home (claiming that it is running buisness at home) has meant we can't pay for the Surveys needed for the morguage. It is also a little more difficult to get the lender to lend, while the rescue owes £3,500.00 to the council. So it's a case of finding around £4,000 in the next 2 months or a HQ to rent. Over the past 15 yrs our volenteers have rescued and rehomed thousands of animals but are now having to turn down at least half the enquiries we are getting, so the volenteers bills are not increasing.
If anyone has any ideas on how to raise this cash or find a HQ then please contact one of our volenteers as soon as possible all contacts are on the web site.

There's nothing like a local newspaper campaign to embaress teh council into cganging it's mind as to what is charity and what is business. Do foster carers of children pay business tax?

At present we are leasing a property with not many probs so far but this is on a 6 monthly sigining for 4 yrs.
So if something did come up more long term we would seriously consider it.
