Rabbits and Guineas Needing homes

Post by honeybunny on Tue Feb 10, 2009 2:22 pm

We have..as always.. a large number of rabbits looking for homes
Due to the recent bad weather we have had an increase in the number of people wanting to hand in their pets.
We are desperate for more spaces and would love to see new homes come along for those ready to go.
We usually rehome to live in neutered pairs
All our rabbits are neutered and fully vacs
We have all shapes sizes and temprements.
We are based in Leicester/Notts but rehome nationally
Please consider a rescue rabbit
below are just a few we have in at the moment
Foggy lovely lad!

Flapjack a little nethie boy who constantly gets overlooked

January..pretty girl

Compo..nice but nervous lad

We also have guinea pigs
At present 3 very timid sows who are living singly but need to go with other pigs and will need an understanding owner
Littel Coral is one of them

You can ring 0116 2869887 or e mail honeybunnysr@aol.com

What a gorgeous bunch....and not showing any favouritism LOL, but Foggy and Flapjack are particularly scrummy.

Do you ever pair the neutered boys together?

We prefer a pairing of neutered male to neutered female
You can have two bunnies of the same sex together but are much more likely to fall out

These are only a few of the animals we have in..so if you like the look of one..ask what others we have that may go with it Very Happy

Yep, I thought that would be the case but thanks for letting me know. It's just that I had seen quite a few same sex pairings on rabbit rescue sites and was wondering about Foggy and Flapjack. I am only at the considering stage about rabbits and we are in Norfolk (2 hours away which isn't undo-able though of course), but I loved the look of Foggy and I feel sorry for poor Flapjack being overlooked cos he looks sweet to me.

Are they both house rabbits and what are their temperaments like please?

Hi Jo

just to update Foggy is off to a new home tomorrow Very Happy

Flapjack would make a nice housebunny and is quite friendly could be adopted as a solo on the understanding her has a partner within 3 months....gives you time to find a suitable wife for him!
and a bunny run is going to Norwich next Saturday as someone over there is adopting another of our bunnies ...

Hi Kellie,

There will be a rescue near you with rabbits looking for loving homes. please please do not buy one from a pet shop!

Try googling Rabbit Rescues in your area.

I also have two friends who run rescues for furries, neither are in your area, but I am sure they could give you a local rescue name if you are stuck!

Sorry Jill, did not mean to hi jack your thread! Great job on rehoming all those gorgeous bunnies and piggies!

Hi just a word of warning......there is a new film coming out called G Force which is about guinea pigs so during the summer hols I expect demand will rise as parents queue to buy their little "darlings" one. I think the film producers should put a notice about responsibility and pet care requirements at the begining of these films.

Could not agree more!

Would be an excellent opportunity to push the message home about good animal care and management!

Will it happen?? zip
