Re: Lots of guinea pigs looking for homes (Norfolk/Suffolk)
I would love to help you with a few of these - we love guinea pigs and even have a spare hutch, but unfortunately our Bull Terrier would love them even more.. NOT!! I would have them out in a big run as much as possible but the dog would scare them witless!!
I have a few friends who are into guineas so will have an ask around for you.
Best of luck with them.

Re: Lots of guinea pigs looking for homes (Norfolk/Suffolk)
Sorry I have not been in here much have been very busy
We finally celebrated our first year of being a rescue by updating our site, I find it hard to keep all the various forums updated too with our re-homings, the number of guineas coming in is enourmous got five more coming in today.
Transporting the guineas over a distance of over an hour or so's drive can be difficult as they are easily stressed so offers of help beyond Norfolk sadly cannot be taken up.
Lyn thank you for the offer of help
I can make sutton bridge in just over an hour ( Or my Dad used to he was born there and my grandparents lived there) Will be in touch via pm.

Thanks too to Bronny for offering to ask around with guinea loving friends
Re: Lots of guinea pigs looking for homes (Norfolk/Suffolk)
Here are our current guineas looking for homes:

Squeak and Baby a pair of boys (eyes only look funny due to red eye reduction on computer they are both dark eyed) Friendly and get on together well squeak is an adult Baby is around 6 months old.
Pixel and Steph Pixel is a neutered boar and has always lived with his long haired girlfriend Steph they are approximately 3 years old

These are very friendly guinea pigs and rush to the front of the cage when they hear you picking grass.
Tommy is a sociable but dominant boar currently living alone but we hope to pair him soon ifhe can not find a home as another boars friend

Pinball and Wizard
These guys need a special home, Pinball fitted on his journey here and now has a permanent head tilt and balance problems he has not fitted since then.
Wizard is skittish, and does not enjoy handling much and Pinball finds the whole handling experience a bit too wobbly bless him. They need a very special local home as we would not travel pinball far.

We also have lots of boys that prefer living alone so if anyone could offer them an indoor home with lots of human company they would love it! None of them are happy sharing their hutch with other gineas but could live in divided caging as most of them do here for company. If any one could offer these special boys or any of our other guineas a home please get in touch.
Sadly many other rescues in the area are now unable to take in boars due to a backlog of them or the fact they are harder to re-home, some of our single lads have been with us over a year now, and as you can see the majority of guineas we have available are boys.

Re: Lots of guinea pigs looking for homes (Norfolk/Suffolk)
Pixel and Steph have been reserved today by someone who has adopted from us before as ever the boys are gettingo ver looked can anyone offer them a home?
Re: Lots of guinea pigs looking for homes (Norfolk/Suffolk)
Squeak and baby (now re-named monty and mike)
Pinball and wizard
are all still looking,
we have also had in several other guinea pigs since updated pages on our site www.guineapig-rehoming-norfolk.co.uk
Sadly these four boys have now been waiting the longest of this years rescues for a home (we have some very long stay single boys who have been with us over a year that are living happily in divided cage arrangements) so if anyone could offer them a permanent home that would be great. Recently we have found quite a few great homes for guinea pigs but these boys keep getting overlooked.
Pinball and Wizard I knew would be hadr to home as they are neither easily handleable so they have a forever hutch here if that special home does not come along, but Monkty and Mike are happy healthy friendlyy guinea pigs I have no idea why they have been passed over so many times!

STILL LOOKING
These girls have been with us for some time Bandit (left) arrived here 17/4/08 as part of a rescue dumped on a doorstep in cardboard boxes she has always had the pregnant look about her as she may have been used extensively for breeding prior to coming here (plus she loves her food and is a bossy boots!). She is probably between 2-3years old but was an adult on arrival. She is fairly good to handle but quite an opinonated pig although she has been out on the grass with a large group of piggies and caused no problems. Lara (middle) arrived here as a two day old baby on 3/1/08 she has always been a very nervous piggy she is fine to nail clip and groom but despite our best efforts does not enjoy regular handling. Delilah (right) is Laras mum arriving here at approximately 6 months old on 3/1/08 she is ok to handle but not very keen, she can feel a bit intimidated when mixing in a large group as she spent the first 6 months of her life in a small hutch with many other piggies that were left to inbreed. When out in a group she can take exception to being bossed around by the dominant sow of another group. I would love these ladies to stay together as they have lived together for the last 10 months. They happily live outdoors in a 5ft by 2ft hutch and would like a similar arrangement in their new home. They may also settle in to being part of a larger herd but would prefer them to go as a trio.

Also lots of pairs of boys who have special care needs because they are of rather unusual coat types.
We have between four of us got 30 sows and up to 12 boars to house next weekend so it would be gerat if some of our long stay rescues could find homes
