Re: Two young horses
Excuse my ignorance here, but I am wondering what has been done to find the owners - could they be stolen and dumped? I am asking as a friend of mine has just had 3 ponies stolen and she is doing everything she can to find them but it concerns me that they could be taken into a rescue anywhere in the UK without her knowledge, and then 28 days later belong to someone else?
I am a member of Horsewatch and dont recall an email alert about these two ponies.
I dont want to undermine the great work you have done/are doing for them but just a little worried that someone may be missing them. Its great there are people out there taking care of 'dumped' ponies and doing their very best for them. Travellers often dump horses/ponies but most often is when they feel they arent worth anything to them and as they sell most on and make something from them, it is a bit unusual - just makes me wonder if they were stolen.
Can you give me any details of them, how big they are etc?
I only briefly scrolled through this post so I might have missed what is being done to find who owned them. I am a member of many horse forums and i dont recall this story
I dont want to offend anyone at all so please dont take any of my posts the wrong way. My friend is doing all she can to find hers but it hadnt ocurred to me they could have been taken in by a rescue. Can anyone send me a list of the rescues she could alert incase her ponies are 'dumped'
Many thanks and well done on taking care of them

Re: Two young horses
These Horses should be registered with horse watch as the police put them into their database.
I personally spoke to the national equine register to see if they were passported too but they have no records of two horses that they can tie up with their descriptions.
If you want to e-mail the details of the stolen horse to us at southwalesanimalrescue@hotmail.com we can add them to our lost and found page and pass the details on to the resacues down her that we are in touch with.
These two are on my avitar.

Re: Two young horses

The girls are doing well, they are now called Rainbow (black) and Caddy (white blaze) there is also a new addition as Rainbow was in foal (fingers crossed Caddy is'nt hiding one from the vet). Now I managed to get pic of the dogs up so here goes and I'll try for the girls and their new addition.

Re: Two young horses
They have been with us for 4 months now so unless someone comes forward with a real good reason they haven't found them by now they are now SWAR horses, we will be doing more work on them and hopefully they will find long term loan homes through us.

They were the ones in Dudley I did give some advice on them, never did find out what happend though. Both stories were around the same time so easy to get confused.

Re: Two young horses
The vet saw them last night as Rainbow (black) has a sticky eye and she has now said Caddy (Black/white) has changed shepe drastically so could be preggie after all.
That means more mouths more money.........................I wish funds were as easy to double

Re: Two young horses
Why is nothing straight forward
We now have a large vet bill as Rainbow has something really strange going on in her hip, vet is investigating, and our silly foal has cut all his back legs, we can only assume on the brambles in one of the hedges as the field is checked regularly for anything dangerous.
It was great fun trying to get a tetnus vaccination into him and he now thinks we're gonna jab him everytime he comes near.

Re: Two young horses
No answers with the tests but Rainbow is now off the bute and sound. Vet would have liked to x-ray but she wasn't trusting us that much.
Our best guess is she pulled a muscle in her hip and the hip was rotating slightly cos in all the years I've had horses I've never seen a limp quite like it.
Steffan the colt is starting to trust we arn't going to jab him again.
All his cuts are healing nicely, and he's starting to turn Black.

Re: Two young horses
Will nag Blackmolly to go up with her cam as mine is dead in the water.
Rainbow's leg in now much improved and the vet thinks it could have been strained ligaments.

Re: Two young horses
Steph has promised pics when hubby goes back to work.
We now have a rescue horse with fracture in his fetlock, more funds to raise.
Steffan is doing well and may have the perfect loan home as soon as he hits 6/7 mnths.
