Hya, pls can you increase my cases by 5:

Since Friday I have done a homecheck for an rhu member recommended home, Valerie in Maldon. Will be rehoming the old ragdoll to her next week.

I delivered Willow (of Ipswich) to Paignton for rhu

I delivered two sets of feral kittens to Paignton - home found via rhu

I relayed the ginger boy from dagenham to romford to meet with Sarah (rhu) who took him to Pink Paws in Suffolk.

Been a busy girl. Ta, Lauren

Sorry, but it has to be said that new members seem to be joining to stir crap!!

Please, let us all be in it for the animals. Any problems with other members take it to pm or admin/mods etc.

For example, it asks me to agree to the French laws. I'm not quite sure what I've agreed to there. I will do my best to abide by it though lol

Here is a current map of the Welsh counties: http://www.data-wales.co.uk/unimap.htm or this one might be clearer: http://www.walesdirectory.co.uk/counties.htm

Hope this helps,

Hello Admin and Membership,

What is a RHU Case Point and why should we care about them and what counts to earning one and what does'nt?

Well basically it only counts if in response to a thread on the forum.

So if I was to pm a memebr in the area I want a homecheck in say Nottingham and they say yes Debbie I can do that for you. I think fantastic, thank goodness for RHU and it's membership.

The problem is that memebr in Nottingham who kindly offered to do my homecheck ...

Perhaps a mod can move this to the best place?

It occured to me that some rescues don't know about this very useful piece of legislation. Very often pressure is placed on us to take in pets of elderly people who are in hospital or who have been moved suddenly to sheltered housing without first making arrangements for their pets. It is usually the case that these pets are being boarded in catteries or kennels and the fees are the main issue for local authorities or relatives. Before now I ...

First of all let me explain that I help out dogs charities because dogs need help and appologies if this subject has been raised before.

Does anyone know if charities offer to pay travelling expenses to transporters and homecheckers? Because this is how the system would work:

Charity pays 40 pence per mile to the volunteer, the volunteer then donantes back ALL of those expenses to the charity, which then means that the charity has not actually paid out anything, but the volunteer can ...

I think we need a database of which rescues, or branches of rescues, are represented by RHU members - along the lines of the existing one but headed by rescue name. I agree it's easy to look up a particular member's details, but folks don't know where to go for specific help with a species of animal they find themselves having to sort but don't know much about and may not know which member to approach - hence loads of "I need rescue back up for a *****" posts.

would it be possible for rescues that ask on here to do home checks for there to be a brief about the breed?

for example, i own - or am owned i should say by an akita.. who has very different needs to a boxer dog.

Some akitas like to be outside alot of the time & would quite happily spend time in a run or kennel - yet i now know that boxers have very little fur underneath so this would not be suitable.

Hi.. I was thinking, that it might be an idea to have on the request for home check thread, the outcome. That way at a glance, rescues/interested parties can see who completed homecheck, when and for what. Thus removing a lot of confusion. Am sure all of us have nothing to hide in that respect and would be happy for this stuff to be on view.

If this may cause a huge pile up of posts still needing to be current (not that up on those kind of thngs) this information could then be added on to ...

I think a lot of rescues could benefit from a fourth category being added - Administration & Fund Raising.

The first 3 categories are very much hands on - the tasks which are undertaking in physically helping an animal find a new home. But the fouth is also essential and often gets forgotten or overlooked because it is not "front line action". These tasks are however however important to keep a rescue ...

could we please have this website and the ;ittle link thingy at the top with the top 50 aquarium sites etc etc

I use it for my searches but it would be so easy if it was on the RHU website plus we are on the RHU anyway and if we need to do a quick search we just have to go to the home page.

thanks
