Dog Free Foster Space - Wiltshire

Post by northwind on Tue Jun 30, 2009 5:01 pm

Forum name: Northwind
Real Name: Nicky
county: Wiltshire
postcode: SN25 4ZR
can you travel at all? if yes how far: About an hour or so in any direction
what animals do you have experiance with including breeds if applicable: Cats; guinea pigs; dogs - x breed and Samoyed

have you been homechecked for fostering if yes please specify and please be prepared for it to be followed up!: Foster homechecked by Chris GSD Lifeline around November/December 2008

do you have experiance with any behavioural issues or problems? No
do you have experiance with any mental/physical medical conditions? No

current animals in the home: No permanent animals in residence; currently one foster cat and one foster guinea pig
can these be seperated etc if needed?: Yes
what can you offer a space too: Cats, dog, small furries

any other details: I am experienced with dogs only in so far as I have had 2 dogs of my own - a cross breed (prob Lab x Rotti) and a pedigree Samoyed. Both were rescues. Neither of them had any significant behavioural problems and both responded well to the little bit of training that I did with them. I have 2 young children (5 years old) and an older son with some special needs. I am happy to foster a dog but it would obviously need to be good with children, house trained and no known medical or behavioural issues.

I have had 3 dogs stay here on overnights during transport runs and feel we can cope with and offer a good foster home to a calm well behaved dog! Appreciate this narrows it down quite a lot, but feel it is important that I am realistic about my limitations!

Sorry - I can't offer her a foster space as I have 2 foster cats in at the moment, and she doesn't do cats. apparently.
